15 effortless recipes for lazy TikTok cooks

Hi, I’m Krista and I can’t be bothered to spend hours scouring the store aisles looking for 20+ ingredients to make a TikTok recipe that I’m going to mess up one way or another. So, I’ve created recipes that taste great, don’t require “expert” cooking level status – and can be made very quickly.

Best Ranch Slow Cooker Roast Ever:

In an empty bowl: a packet of brown sauce, a packet of hot Italian seasoning and a packet of dry ranch seasoning. Put aside. Chop some golden potatoes. Get a boneless CHUCK or RUMP roast and put it in a slow cooker (AKA a Crockpot). Take this seasoning mix you have set aside and sprinkle it over the meat. Add the chopped potatoes, then a few baby carrots. Then sprinkle the rest of the seasoning mix on top and stir. Cook over low heat for eight hours.

Giant Buffalo Chicken Hot Pocket:

Take a box of pizza dough, open it and spread it in the bottom of a baking dish. Brush the dough with a little butter and/or olive oil. Sprinkle grated Italian cheese (it’s a mix of mozzarella, provolone, parmesan, romano, fontina, and asiago) over the dough. Next, shred a roast chicken and toss it with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce – add it over the batter/cheese. Finish with grated cheddar then roll it all up. Brush melted butter, Parmesan, minced garlic and oregano on top. Bake for about 40 minutes at 375 degrees.

Slow Cooker Chicken Quinoa Enchilada Dish:

Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker with about two cups of chicken broth. Then add about a cup of quinoa and a whole jar of enchilada sauce (I only like the one from Trader Joe’s FWIW). Then add: frozen corn, a small can of diced green chiles, drained black beans, half a can of Rotel, cilantro, Trader Joes Everything But The Elote Seasoning, chili powder, salt and pepper. Cover and cook over low heat for about five to six hours. The chicken will shred/fall apart very easily – top with your favorite shredded cheese, toss and serve!

Southwestern Style Chicken Soup:

In a large saucepan, add 32 ounces of chicken broth, about 2/3 cup ranch dressing, a bag of frozen southwest-style corn, a packet of taco seasoning, three cans of Rotel, and shredded roast chicken . Cover and cook over low to medium heat for about 20 minutes. Top with grated cheese, sour cream, tortilla chips – whatever you want.

Pressure Cooker Pad Thai:

Add olive oil, a few diced chicken breasts, minced garlic, soy sauce, a whole jar of pad thai sauce (I just used the Kroger brand, it’s fine) and about a cup and a half of water for a pressure cooker. Add a full package of uncooked rice noodles* and stir. Cook by hand for about 25 minutes or until the noodles are cooked. While cooking, chop the yellow/red peppers, cilantro, green onions, peanuts and carrot sticks. After the 25 minutes, add the chopped ingredients (and a little water if necessary) and steam vegetable for five minutes.

* Alternatively, you can boil the rice noodles and add them at the end!

Perfectly Seasoned Baked Salmon:

Dab some Atlantic salmon and rub it with olive oil. Place it on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and greased with nonstick spray. Mince a little garlic and add on top, along with a little Italian seasoning. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and fresh lemon. Layer on some thin slices of butter and cook for about 15 minutes at 400º.

Creamy Basil Chicken Pesto:

Drizzle a little olive oil over four chicken breasts and top with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Put aside. Put some cream cheese spread in a bowl and toss it with a good amount of potted basil pesto sauce (I like the Classico brand but you can use whatever you like). Sear both sides of the chicken, place them in a skillet and spread the basil pesto and cream cheese mixture on top. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and bake at 350 until chicken is fully cooked. Garnish with Italian herb seasoning and serve with pasta if desired!

Baked Chicken Tacos with Sour Cream and Salsa:

Shred roast chicken and mix in sour cream and your favorite potted salsa. Divide the mixture into small tortillas and bake until the tortillas are crispy. Add shredded lettuce and cheddar cheese on top and serve!

Effortless Layered Lasagna:

Pour an entire jar of your favorite pasta sauce into the bottom of a baking dish. Place frozen cheese ravioli over pasta sauce until covered. Layer on Italian cheese. You can then layer mushrooms or ground beef/sausage. Add some Italian seasoning and repeat the process, ending with a layer of cheese on top. Sprinkle basil and oregano on top and cook for about 45 minutes at 400º.

Chicken Stuffing Casserole:

In a bowl, combine half a cup of sour cream, a can of cream of chicken soup and sliced mushrooms. Shred a roast chicken and add it to the mixture. Spread in the bottom of a baking dish. Put aside. Get a box of Stove Top stuffing mix and pour about half a cup of melted butter on it. Spread this mixture over the chicken mixture and cook for about 45 minutes at 400º until crispy.

Tastiest Italian grinder sandwich:

Pour the Olive Garden Italian dressing over a bowl of shredded lettuce. Add mayonnaise, garlic powder, oregano, banana peppers, red onion and parmesan. Put aside. Cut a loaf of fresh French bread in half, spread some melted butter on top and season Italian. Add your favorite meat and cheese (I love pepperoni, salami, turkey, and American cottage cheese) and broil in the oven until the cheese is melted. Add the lettuce mixture on top and add tomatoes if you like!

Baked Black Bean Tostadas:

Sauté chopped red onions in a skillet with olive oil, then add a can of drained black beans and your favorite salsa. Leave to marinate over low heat. Bake flour or corn tortillas flat until crispy. Spread the bean mix on top and load up your favorite toppings!

Brown the chopped yellow onion in a pan with olive oil and add the chopped or diced chicken breasts. Add some chopped garlic and sesame oil. Turn it to low heat and add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, crushed peanuts and chopped green onions. Place the mixture in a lettuce boat and serve!

Chicken Sriracha Tacos:

Pour the sriracha sauce (or barbecue sauce if you can’t stand the heat) over the chicken breasts, season with salt and pepper and cook. While these cook, chop peppers and purple cabbage. When the chicken is cooked, shred it and add more sriracha. Place your chicken in a heated corn or flour tortilla and add your bell pepper/cabbage toppings. Sprinkle with feta cheese and more sriracha!

McDonald’s Copycat Snack Packaging:

Take frozen chicken strips and put them in the deep fryer until crispy. Arrange them on a heated tortilla when you’re done, top with shredded lettuce, cheese, tomato and your choice of dressing. Super easy and so good!

And I know these are all dinner recipes, but I can NOT end this post with one of my favorite and super easy semi-healthy desserts. So here’s a bonus recipe: Sour Patch Grapes:

Wash a few green grapes, drain the water and set them aside. In a resealable bag, add a dry mix of Jell-O – Jolly Rancher is my favorite. Then add the semi-moist grapes to the bag with the mixture. Shake until grapes are fully coated. Arrange them in a saucepan and place them in the freezer for a few hours or in the refrigerator for about four hours. 😋

And these are some of my favorite recipes that take minimal effort and time to get you back to enjoying the shows you’re binge-watching right now. If you want to see more recipes hang out with me on TikTok or Insta!
