Each week in our Creature Feature, we have a cat and dog who are currently up for adoption in KC. Today we start with this cat, Lego.
Hi, I’m Lego. I am a long-haired brown patch, age 6. I’m actually pretty petite under my pretty fur coat. I am very sweet and loving, enjoy having cuddles, and love being with people. I enjoy playing interactively and will chase toys or balls that are thrown for me. I also enjoy looking out of the windows at the wildlife. I prefer a quiet environment, so it may not be the best match for young children or other pets. I’d like to meet you to see if we’re a good match!
Please contact Carol at 913.469.9881 or [email protected] for more information or to schedule an appointment to meet me across the Heart of America, Humane Society.
The most affectionate dog at the shelter, today we have Calvin, declared:
what’s up? I’m Calvin. I’m one of those dogs that loves to do everything – run, play or just hang out with you, my new best friend. I am eager to please you and ready to jump straight into a wonderful life with you! Don’t forget to work my brain, too. I’m a hard working, play hard kind of dog. I am sure to be the “top dog” of training classes; At least I know you’ll see me that way! Aren’t you coming to meet me today?
Calvin will need a home where there is no one under the age of eight, and he will need to meet any children in the home.
If you would like more information or to schedule a meeting day, please contact the Great Plains SPCA. Thank you!
The KC Pet Project continues to experiment with record intakes ahead of the weekend and is caring for nearly 1,000 pets at its sites. Nearly 800 new pets entered the KC Pet Project in the first 22 days of November, and once again every shelter is filled with emergency homes that pop up in the shelter’s other rooms and offices. The KC Pet Project takes in more pets than any other shelter in the area.
The shelter continues to receive large numbers of requests from people to drop off their pets, and nearly 500 new pets either came as strays or were brought in by Animal Services in November.
Because of the space available at the shelter, the KC Pet Project is starting a special adoption on Black Friday. Dog and cat adoptions will be “name your price adoptions,” so adopters can set their own adoption fee for the pets they choose to adopt. The special will run through Sunday, November 27. At KC Animal Care Campus, Zona Rosa Adoption Center, and Petco at 95The tenth Street (cats only). Foster pets are also eligible for the special offer. Puppies, kittens, and specialized breeds are excluded from the special.
Don’t miss this great opportunity to adopt a new best friend. New pets become available for adoption every day, and you can watch them all their website.
All KC Pet Project locations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
