Cat lovers can try out cat food inspired dishes at Fancy Feast’s Italian pop-up

Cat food brand Fancy Feast is expanding into a humane, cat-inspired kitchen, with an Italian restaurant in New York City designed to celebrate the company’s new line. Fancy Feast, which means “white cat,” is described as an “Italian-style trattoria,” and will be open for dinner reservations August 11-12 only, according to a press release from Purina, which produces Fancy Feast. The human-friendly dishes were inspired by Fancy Feast’s new ‘Medleys’ cat food line, which features options such as the “Beef Ragu Recipe with Tomatoes and Pasta in a Delicious Sauce” for discerning cats. Only a lucky few will be able to experience the Gatto Bianco pop-up, located between Manhattan’s Far West Village and the Meatpacking District. The experience is limited to 16 guests, each of whom will enjoy a complimentary tasting menu for free. The menu was designed by Fancy Feast’s in-house chef, Amanda Hasner, and New York restaurateur Cesar Casella, Purina noted. Hasner at Purina’s release. “The same goes for our cats. The dishes at Gatto Bianco are prepared in ways that help cat owners understand how their cats experience food – from flavor, to texture, to shape – in a way that only Fancy Feast can do.” Above video: The kitten couple figurine at home has more than 7000 pieces. This isn’t Fancy Feast’s first foray into human eating. In 2021, the company released a cookbook with recipes cat lovers can make with their cat’s food, and for those who can’t get their paws in hold, the company will post the recipes on its website.
