Every week in the world of vegan food news seems to be more exciting than last week and this week is no exception. GoodPop’s new oat milk ice cream sandwiches just landed in bulk purchases for 15 at Costco stores in Los Angeles. 1Vegan Ice Cream Sandwiches from GoodPop at Costco

GoodPop ice cream brand — known for its ice cream — branched out into the first vegan ice cream sandwiches. Vanilla chocolate sandwiches are made with oat milk as a base for ice cream and were first launched in April at retailers such as Whole Foods Market, HEB, and Sprouts. This week, bulk packs of GoodPop’s vegan ice cream sandwiches are available exclusively in 15-count boxes for $11.99 at Costco Los Angeles locations.

“We saw an opportunity to re-create classic ice cream sandwiches like the ones we grew up on, but with cleaner, more delicious ingredients that are better for people and the planet,” Daniel Goetz, GoodPop founder and CEO, said in a statement. And because the brand is built on doing good, GoodPop encourages people to make pledges to do good through its Pledge Good Foundation and will donate $1 to charities for every pledge received.

Also new at Costco this week is Field + Farmer’s Fresh Snack Bars. These vegan snack bars are made with real fruit, get protein from things like peanut butter and pumpkin seeds, and are sweetened with low-glycemic coconut sugar. Available in a 12-pack variety with Apple Pie, Carrot Cake, and Peanut Butter & Jelly flavors, the new snack bars can be found at Costco locations in 14 states across the Midwest.

2Explore salt and straw vegetables in ice cream

Available in Salt & Straw from today through September 2, the Salt & Straw late-summer menu highlights vegetables with their new signature flavours. The shop’s flavor gurus, dubbed “Veggies You Crave,” used an array of vegetables like roasted carrots, spinach, and fennel to create five unique flavors, one of which is vegan.

Red Chili Curry & Makrut Lime Crispy Rice brings out the sweet, spicy flavors found in Southeast Asian curries and is made with pepper, lemongrass, ginger and spices that are roasted with a pinch of makrut lime (also known as “kaffir lime”) juice and mixed with cream. Coconut. The unique flavor comes with a handful of crunchy Florentine rice cakes filled with cream of lime. This flavor is available at in-store West Coast locations and as part of a $65-Pack combo package that includes non-vegetarian flavors.

3Harry Potter butter is vegan

Visitors to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort can order cold or frozen butter without additives – meaning the popular non-alcoholic beverage can be made entirely vegan.

Unlimeat is a South Korean vegetarian meat brand that is making its way to the United States. Unlimeat is best known for its tender vegan bulgogi, and has recently entered a new category with its chewable and tender vegan jerky with its proprietary texture technology. Unlimeat uses beet and pomegranate for coloring and citrus plant extract as a preservative.

The Korean brand made its vegan jerky products available via Amazon after a highly successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter that met its goal in less than three hours and exceeded its goal by 1,035 percent in one month.

“We heard that it would be difficult to access even $10,000 of funding for Kickstarter food categories, which typically feature tech products,” a representative for Unlimeat said in a statement. “We are very pleased to break market expectations by receiving more than $30,000 in funding, especially because our product is plant-based, making it a smaller subdivision of the broader market. We hope our product, which has now successfully sold in the US, will become even more popular. on Amazon.”

Unlimeat Jerky is now available on Amazon in Korean BBQ and Smoky in 6-pack boxes at $19.97 each.

5Jackfruit appears in Kale My Name

Small plates displayed in the pop-up will include Smoky Jack Pulled Pork Sliders served with homemade coleslaw and Crispy Jack Nugget Tacos served with pico de gallo, kale, and house-made chipotle aioli.
