Dashing Sons on the loose, offering drinks for all tastes | New

After a recent grand opening, Dashing Sons hit the road, offering a myriad of caffeinated beverages and coffees to suit all tastes after owners Bryan and Victoria Childers executed an idea born out of nighttime insomnia, according to Victoria.

A new beverage truck has sprung up in Johnson County, offering caffeine in different shapes and sizes with Dashing Sons, a new venture from Bryan and Victoria Childers.

Drinks on offer include cold brew coffees, Italian sodas and energy mixes, including Red Bull and an energy mix called Lotus, which Victoria said was a plant-based alternative to traditional energy drinks.

“We do more cold brew coffee than anything else, our biggest seller is our Brewed Kentuckian, which has bourbon caramel in it, it’s delicious,” Victoria said. “We have hot coffee and we have Frappes, the Lotus drinks, which are like a plant-based powerhouse, we do Italian sodas, lemonades, and then we also do Red Bull sodas, which is a Italian soda with the Red Bull in it.

According to Victoria, business is going well so far.

“Great, wonderful. Everyone seems to like everything, and every time we set up it’s really busy,” she said, adding that they’re trying to increase inventory at Brewed Kentuckian, which is constantly sold out. “It’s usually the first thing that sells and we try to work on that and get some more inventory.”

Victoria said the idea for a drink truck came to her during a late-night bout of insomnia, which she says was when she had all her best ideas.

“I already did a brick and mortar with Lynette and Laurel, but I want to go places, I don’t want to be in one place all the time, I want to go different places and experience things,” said Victoria said. , laughing. “I do my best to think in the middle of the night when I have insomnia, so at 2 a.m. I was like, ‘I want a coffee trailer,’ I like coffee and I like drinks, that’s my thing. So, I was like, ‘I want a trailer so we can do all these events and travel.'” It was a middle-of-the-night idea.

The Dashing Sons name, Victoria added, was another middle-of-the-night idea.

“We just wanted something cute and eye-catching and we have two sons so it just flowed together,” Victoria said, adding that she and Bryan were having a lot of fun with this new adventure. “We love it, we love talking to people and we love being in the crowd so it’s right up our alley. We chat with people and have fun doing all these drink combinations. »

Victoria said being your own boss was a liberating, if daunting experience, and anyone looking to get into any type of entrepreneurship should just take the plunge and start working on it – many details will unfold as they go. as you work the first steps.

“I don’t know, we’re just going to sort of. We sit down, try to plan everything out, test the waters first, then just go with it. We didn’t really have a plan, I never really have a set plan, I just have the idea and then figure it out,” Victoria said. “Don’t be afraid to try. Just do it.”

“Don’t be afraid to fail,” added Bryan.

“Just come see us,” Victoria added. “Come say ‘Hi’ and have a fun drink.”
