Florida Center Uses Grant
To buy a transit car
The Florida Early Childhood Center recently received a $50,000 grant from the Bishop Parker Early Childhood Court Foundation, or ECC. The grant supported the purchase of a transit vehicle to transport families to and from required appointments and for additional psychotherapy and parenting lessons.
“Many families do not have reliable vehicles to attend visits, medical appointments, meetings and court proceedings,” said Kristi Skoglund, CEO of the Florida Center. “We are very grateful to the Bishop-Parker Foundation for improving access to these services and truck financing, which will reduce some of the barriers that could jeopardize program success and completion.”
The grant helps provide an extra layer of safety net for vulnerable children and families. For information on the Early Childhood Court, visit thefloridacenter.org/what-we-do/early-childhood-court.
