John McKinney said his grandfather was like a father to many in the community.
“So a lot of people have chosen him to replace the parent who’s gone or just for advice and wisdom. He’s full of wisdom,” John McKinney said.
Even though he never finished high school, John McKinney said he had so much knowledge.
“But it’s just an open book, he loves everyone loves people. He won’t do anything unless God tells him to,” John McKinney said.

The McKinneys will throw several parties for Johnny McKinney before his big day on Saturday. John McKinney said if you ever see his grandfather in public, take a second to say hello.
“If anyone gets a chance to run into them, hang out with them. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did,” said John McKinney. “You would be grateful to have crossed that path and show her some love on her birthday.”
