Lupe’s local Mex-Tex serves organic foods from local farms

Lupe’s Local Mix-Tex store owner Luis Arizcorrata wanted to share his best-for-you recipes with the community.

San Antonio – If you are looking for a food truck that will leave you feeling full, but also fulfilling, look no further because we have a place for you.

This week at Neighborhood Eats: Food Truck Edition, an original series of KENS 5, we visited Lupe’s Local Mex-Tex parked at the Free Roam Brewing Company at 325 S Main Street in Boerne.

“People love the fact that we use all organic and local farms for different reasons,” said Lupe’s owner Luis Arizcorrata. “But the main reason is that when you use priest-bred animals, they don’t have antibiotics in their diets, they don’t have hormones in the diet. And the flavor changes, and the flavors are cleaner.”

He wanted to share his best recipes for you with the community. He gets many of the ingredients from local farms. Like pork of peaceful pork. Arizcorrata spends the extra money on products because he believes in what they offer.

And we had to see what he’s cooking.

“Fries the potatoes on a 12-inch tortilla. The cheese, and ham, tends to be rich. Add the organic pickled cabbage I make on my own, and the tomatillo and roasted roga,” Arizcorata said.

You can customize it with your choice of protein from pork and barbacoa to chicken and breast meat. You can choose how much spice you want, too!

You can also try nachos With your choice of protein on top.

Arizcorata takes pride in his work. He told us how happy he is to own Lupe because he is now doing so as an American citizen. “It’s very important for me to show that I belong and show that I bring something to the table, you know. I think as immigrants that’s what most of us try to do. We bring our culture, and food – we try to belong.”

Tell us how he feels accepted here, and he hopes the community will accept his invitation to try unique meals

“People have to realize that as a buyer of foodstuffs, you have the power to change the future of children, the future of this country, you know, because of the way we eat,” Arizcorata said.
