For our pet of the month, we’re excited to introduce you vibe!

Phoebe’s story

Phoebe’s story with Operation Pets Alive begins in October 2019, when, when she was just one month old, she was found abandoned with her four companions. She was taken to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter by a Good Samaritan and was soon drawn into the OPA program. While she was with OPA, she was known as Squeak, but it wasn’t too long ago that she was adopted by a loving couple in November when she was old enough for adoption.

Fast forward two years to December 2021, and Phoebe’s parents had to make the heartbreaking decision to turn her over to OPA. They adored her, but her father had recently obtained a service dog and the two were not in a relationship. This was a very difficult decision for the couple, who wanted nothing but the best for her.

Phoebe is 2 1/2 years old and about 40 lbs. She is a wonderful Lab mix who loves people and loves other dogs, with a proper introduction. She loves going for long walks, trips to the dog park, car rides, and sleeping through the night! She is a classic dog and loves to chase cats, so her high prey drive makes it difficult for her to be around small dogs and other small animals.

This smart girl completed a two-week survival and learning program with PetSuites in March, and she wishes she was home to show off what she’s capable of! Watch the video View some of the things I’ve worked on:

Phoebe’s new adopters can also be given a one-on-one training lesson to make sure her new family knows all of her commands.

You can apply to meet or adopt Phoebe on the Operation Pets Alive website (no adoption obligation), just be sure to use her name and ID D191072 when filling out the form:
