When restaurateur Kevin Trimarchi’s craving for a sweet midnight snack inspired him to open a late-night cookie bakery in Somerville a year ago, he didn’t expect crowds, sales of cookies and countless custom order requests.
“I’ve always loved cookies, so I opened Epic Cookies as a hobby – something to make people smile,” said Trimarchi, who also owns 22 West Tap & Grill in Bridgewater and co-owners Oink and Moo BBQ. Market in Somerville. “I never thought we would have queues at the door and people constantly asking for personalized cookie orders.”
But that’s what happened. And soon, Trimarchi’s “hobby” and enough dough to bake thousands of cookies a week outgrew his 600 square foot home at 92 W Main St.
Now he has an extra house. Even More Epic opened at Rita’s former location on May 10, just steps from Epic Cookies. It will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, June 11, which will include special offers for buy-one-free and 10% off select items.
Even More Epic offers so much more than cookies: signature cakes, outrageous ice rolls and milkshakes, as well as rotating desserts such as brownies, whoopie pies, cannolis, donuts and cupcakes.
Like Epic Cookies, Even More Epic is open until 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 p.m. Sunday. Some items can be ordered for delivery through Epic Cookies’ DoorDash page.

It wasn’t Trimarchi’s original plan to offer more items in Epic Cookies’ additional production facility, but when it found the space last fall, it figured its size and its location on Main Street offered the opportunity.
The Cookie Monster Rolled Ice Cream ($11) is the bakery’s best seller. It features blue vanilla ice cream mixed and rolled with crushed Oreos before being drizzled with whipped cream and hot fudge. It is then topped with an Oreo, a chocolate chip cookie and mini chocolate chips.
“It’s ice cream made from scratch right in front of you, so you get the freshest ice cream possible,” Trimarchi said.

“Epic milkshakes” have also been popular, which include a range of sweet toppings such as cotton candy, ice cream sandwiches, lollipops and Reese’s cups. Cookie dough features mixed vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip cookie dough, topped with cookie dough bites, crumbled Oreos, cookie ice cream sandwich and cream whipped with chocolate, all covered with a drizzle of hot fudge.
“People love overdone, crazy desserts and we love making them,” Trimarchi said. “It’s all about Instagram. People love to post about them and see the posts.
