The people of Greater Columbus never stopped loving food and wine, but the Columbus Food and Wine Festival was halted during the pandemic.
Fear not, foodies and wine connoisseurs: The popular festival near Goodale Park is scheduled to return on Friday and Saturday.
We’re excited to bring it back,” co-founder Trish Wright said. “We’ve had a lot of great feedback.”
Attending the festival is free, although there are tickets for special events. Wine packages are also available. Here are the details of this year’s event. For more information, special event tickets and a full schedule, visit www.columbusfoodwine.com

When does the Columbus Food and Wine Festival start?
The festival will begin at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, near Goodale Park, Goodale Avenue between Park Street and Dennison Avenue.
What do you drink, what do you eat
Although it lacks a large footprint, the festival will provide solid samples of offerings from the region’s wineries and dining venues. “It’s going to be 6 to 8 wineries…plus five different dining options,” Wright said. Local chefs will also be giving demonstrations.
what are you listening
While you’re sipping or snacking, entertaining artists will be performing, including Dommy Styles at 8:30 p.m. Friday and Jimmy McGee Band at 9 p.m.
Many special events will pair the music with things to savor. On Friday, “Rock n’ Reds” will combine chocolate and red wine rides with music by rock band The Body Aches. On Saturday, “Soul & Sangria” will mix soul music with pork rinds from the Southern Recipe Small Batch and sangria cocktails. Also on Saturday, “Birthday Cake & Bubbly” will offer birthday cake and champagne cruises as DJs mix the music. Each special event costs $49.99.

What about the kids?
At a special event aimed at kids, “Storytime + Shortcakes,” 11 a.m. Saturday will feature story time as well as bakery-made shortcuts. Children will also be taught how to bake their own cupcakes.
where do you stand
The easiest parking spot, Wright said, is the large Columbus Convention Center garage, 400 N. “This is probably the closest and most convenient,” she said. There are plenty of rooftops and spaces available nearby as well. Attendees can use the LAZ parking app for assistance, https://lazparking.com/app.
What to bring (or not)
Wright said guests can bring lawn chairs, but coolers or large bags are not allowed. You can buy alcoholic drinks but you cannot bring your own.
What if it rains?
Wright said the festival will continue, rainy or sunny.
